Seahorse Productions is the creation of Shannon Service, the Director/Producer of the 2018 documentary Ghost Fleet, which takes an in-depth look into slavery at sea. Once at sea, the men almost never return–unless they escape.
Ghost Fleet follows Thai abolitionist, Patima Tungpuchayakul, and slavery survivor, Tun Lin, as they search remote islands for men who jumped ship. The film delves into the dark underbelly of seafood, only to surface with something transcendent–stories of courage, of reuniting families and evidence of the indestructibility of the human heart.
Ghost Fleet premiered at Telluride and Toronto film festivals and was a finalist for DOC NYC’s “Viewfinder” award for best new director.
